My Objective is to Become World Champion – WorldWCR Series Vol. 19 Paola Ramos

WorldWCR Special Series

The third season of the FIM Womens Circuit Racing World Championship (WorldWCR) kicks off on March 27 in Portimao. Seven rookies are joining the grid this year as part of the 24-rider full-time line-up. We continue with our WorldWCR Special Series of riders interviews. Today, we give you the story of Spanish rider Paola Ramos, who made an extraordinary debut by dominating the field on her very first weekend.

On October 19, 2025, Spanish rider Paola Ramos stunned the world by finishing first in Race 1 of the Spanish Round of WorldWCR, a remarkable achievement for a wildcard entry making her debut. Though a penalty later dropped her from the podium, she proved herself again the following day by finishing first in Race 2 and making it stick.

The 18-year-old Spanish rider is joining the WorldWCR grid full-time this season. Rewinding back 14 years, her journey on two wheels began 14 years ago with a Christmas gift. “From a very young age, I’ve always liked motorcycles and been drawn to them. When I was 4 years old, I took the step and asked for a motorbike as a Christmas present. I started learning in an industrial area, and then we moved on to the racetrack.”

Initially, Paola learned from her father and rode purely for enjoyment. Over the years, she progressed from minibikes and local competitions all the way to becoming runner-up in the Spanish national championship. “When I started, the person who really taught me was my father. I really enjoyed racing, and everyone who starts in this wants to reach the same place. As I’ve moved up through the categories and as the years have gone by, I’ve always learned new things and gained more experience. ”

Unfortunately, her national championship results did not attract enough support to continue her career. After a break of over three years, however, Paola returned to racing in 2024, competing in the ESBK Stock 600 class with the Superhugo44 team. “At the end of the 2019 season, I had to stop due to a lack of financial resources, even though I had been the Spanish vice-champion that same year. I was able to return to competition thanks to the opportunity given to me by the family of Hugo Millán, which allowed me to race again by doing four races with their team in the Stock 600 category.”

All you can do is keep moving forward, always looking for the best solution and doing everything you can as well as possible.

As Paola approached her 18th birthday in 2025, she became eligible for WorldWCR, making a wildcard entry her immediate goal before securing a full-time seat. “I’ve been following both seasons of the WorldWCR, watching every race and studying every detail. I think it’s a very good championship to learn and grow as a rider, and also to gain some visibility. Throughout the 2025 season, we worked towards the wildcard, knowing that our final objective of the year was to get a wildcard and fight for the front positions.”

I think I’m a rider with a lot of pace; I’m very consistent, like a clock, and when I need to be aggressive, I am.

When Paola finally arrived at Jerez for her WorldWCR debut weekend, she didn’t just compete—she dominated. While the season-long title fight between María Herrera and Beatriz Neila captured much of the attention, Paola used that final weekend to make a powerful statement about her future in the championship. “Winning on my debut was incredible; it made the weekend even more special and turned one of my dreams into reality. It was a weekend where a bit of everything happened, but the final result on Sunday made it an unforgettable weekend, along with all the moments we lived during those days.”

Entering as a rookie rarely makes one an instant championship favorite. But arriving with a WorldWCR race win to your name, a feat only four other riders on the grid have accomplished, inevitably marks you as one to watch. But SuperPao is clear what her rookie season is about. “For the 2026 season, my objective is clear – it’s the same as for all of us on the grid: to become World Champion. But I’m calm and without pressure since it’s my first year, and I don’t know almost any of the circuits. Even so, we’ll give everything in every race to be as high up as possible and fight for the title.”

With pre-season testing and the opening round at Portimao less than two months away, Paola is fully immersed in her training routine. “During the week, I usually only do physical training at home and at the gym with my personal trainer. On weekends, I train on the bike.”

We wish Paola all the best of luck in her rookie season in the world championship and beyond!
