What Has The Inaugural Season of WorldWCR Brought Us

On October 20, 2024, the inaugural season of WorldWCR finished all its competitions and saw Ana Carrasco being crowned the first ever FIM Women’s Circuit Racing World Champion. When it was announced, the FIM Women's Motorcycling World Championship promised to be an electrifying addition to the world of motorsport, showcasing the immense talent and dedication of women in the field. Now the first season is done and dusted, what has the WorldWCR brought us? Here's our two cents.

It’s Not Possible to Give Up Motorcycling

On October 30, 2024, Chinese rider CHEN Shiyu (陈诗瑜) made history by becoming only the second female rider to be selected for the full-time line-up of the Asia Talent Cup (ATC) and the first-ever Chinese female rider to be selected. By the time the 2025 season of ATC starts, it would have been 11 years since Thai rider Muklada Sarapuech made her debut in ATC, and 10 years since Chinese riders CHEN Yuanhang (陈远航) and CHEN Pengyuan (陈鹏远) started the last ATC season with Chinese riders in the full-time line-up. After Shiyu came back to her home in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, we had a quick chat with her about her career and expectations of ATC, here is her story.

Seven Years Later I’m in the World Championship! – WorldWCR Series Vol. 5 Alyssia Whitmore

The FIM and Dorna WSBK Organization (DWO) are launching the FIM Women’s Circuit Racing World Championship (WorldWCR) this year. The inaugural season of the championship will kick off in Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli and comprise six rounds (two races at each round) integrated within the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship. A provisional permanent entry list with 24 riders has been announced. We caught up with some of the riders on the entry list, today we give you the fifth installment in this series, the story of British rider Alyssia “Lissy” Whitmore.
